ABOUT

 History

In the 1920's, French physiotherapist Ferdinand Penchenat established the basis for the Fitness Table Method.  Through the years, the table became known to sports and health professionals as "The Table which generates the body" and was used in the world of sports professional, dancers and actors as well as a rehabilitation technique for the general public.  In 1980, Therese Cadrin-Petit, Director of The Fitness Table TCP inc. brought the table to Canada and introduced it as part of training for the National Theatre School of Canada.  Therese is a life long student of movement with her training being founded in classical ballet.  She opened her first private studio in 1985 and there are now 9 Gyn sur Table in french speaking Canada and two Fitness Table TCP in Western Canada.     

The Method

The Method consists of hundreds of exercises on the table using different body positions and grips to allow for a shifting of the centre of gravity. This training helps combat the natural compression that comes with aging and gravity, improves performance for athletes by addressing muscular training in a very specific way, improves flexibility, address chronic back issues and improves whole body allignemt.   ​
